Rishabh Pant surpasses Sachin Tendulkar in an international cricket feat. During his century on Day 1 at Edgbaston, Rishabh Pant hit four sixes.
Rishabh Pant led India’s counter-attack with a scintillating century on Day 1 of the ongoing 5th England vs India Test at Edgbaston. With India reeling at 98/5 at one point, Pant smashed 146 off 111 deliveries, putting on a 222-run stand with Ravindra Jadeja to help India reach 338/7 at Stumps. Pant hit 19 fours and four sixes during his stunning knock. In the process, he became the youngest Indian to hit 100 sixes in international cricket, surpassing Sachin Tendulkar.

Tendulkar accomplished the feat at the age of 25, Pant did so at the age of 24.
Pant now has 48 Test sixes, 24 ODI sixes, and 31 T20I sixes.
Pant had 99 sixes in international cricket prior to the Edgbaston test, and he passed the century mark with a six off Jack Leach in the 37th over.
It was also the match’s first six.
Pant’s aggressive knock rescued India from a precarious position in Birmingham after James Anderson and Matthew Potts ran through the visitors’ top order.
While Anderson dismissed Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara, and Shreyas Iyer, Potts dismissed Hanuma Vihari and Virat Kohli.
Pant then took the attack to the England bowlers, with Jadeja on the other side providing useful support.
The southpaw reached his century in 89 deliveries, the fastest by an Indian wicketkeeper-batter.
He then picked up the pace even more before edging a delivery flighted up outside off-stump by Joe Root.
