Sanju Samson delighted with Dhruv Jurel’s exploits against LSG

Sanju Samson delighted with Dhruv Jurel’s exploits against LSG. Dhruv Jurel registered his maiden fifty in the IPL after registering a series of low scores.

Sanju Samson praised Dhruv Jurel for his knock against LSG at Ekana Stadium during the IPL 2024. The RR captain stated that batting at number 5 is the most difficult job in T20 cricket.

The wicketkeeper-batsman argued that form is only temporary and that the young batter’s batting was composed, as seen by his performance in the Test series against England.

“Form is fleeting, and batting at No.5 is the most difficult position in T20 cricket. In the post-match presentation, Samson stated, “A youngster like him has the composure that we have seen in Tests.”

Jurel stepped in to bat as RR was reduced to 78/3 in 8.4 overs, with Jos Buttler, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Riyan Parag all out. The 2008 winners required solidity in the middle.

Dhruv played second fiddle to his skipper. While Sanju batted effectively and led his team home, the middle-order batsman scored his first fifty in the league. Jurel scored 52 runs in 34 balls while playing in the middle, including five fours and two sixes. Dhruv and Samson combined for a 121-run stand that transformed the game against LSG.

Jurel has been batting in the nets for one or two hours: Sanju Samson

In the process, RR chased down the score of 197 runs with 7 wickets remaining. The Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow presently holds the most successful run chase. The RR batter also said that the management believed in him and thought Jurel was doing well in the nets for roughly an hour or two.

Samson felt it was just a matter of time before the right-handed batter stood up for the team. “We believed in him, he has been batting in the nets for one or two hours, and we knew it was a matter of time (before he delivered),” Samson added. RR will take on SRH in their upcoming game, having nearly qualified.
