Women’s ODI Rankings: Mithali Raj falls to fourth place, while Meg Lanning rises to second. Australia’s Meg Lanning has risen two places in the latest women’s ODI batter rankings, while India’s Mithali Raj has dropped to fourth place.

The first five games of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2022 have resulted in significant movement in the most recent update of the ICC Women’s ODI Player Rankings. Meg Lanning, Australia’s captain, has risen two places in the latest women’s ODI batter rankings. She is now only one and fifteen rating points away from the top spot, which is currently held by her teammate Alyssa Healy. Lanning smashed 86 in 110 balls against England in the first game of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup, seven fours and a six, helping Australia post a massive total of 310. Rachael Haynes, the game’s Player of the Match, who slammed a brilliant 130 of 131, climbed six spots and broke into the top 10 to take the No.7 spot in the rankings. Nat Sciver of England, the other centurion from the game, jumped five spots to No.6.

Mithali Raj, on the other hand, has dropped to fourth place. Hayley Matthews of the West Indies made significant gains in the rankings for batters, bowlers, and all-rounders. She was the Player of the Match in the West Indies’ three-run victory over New Zealand, scoring 119 to set a target of 260 for the White Ferns and then taking the wickets of the in-form Amelia Kerr and Brooke Halliday.

Matthews climbed six spots to No. 4 on the all-rounders list, as well as 12 spots to No. 20 for batters and three spots to No. 10 for bowlers.

South Africa’s Ayabonga Khaka, who had a four-for against Bangladesh in the first game, was among the other players who rose in the rankings. Furthermore, the Indian pair of Sneh Rana and Pooja Vastrakar, who added 122 for India’s seventh wicket to lift them from 114-6 against Pakistan, both moved up to their career-best batting positions.
