New Zealand had abruptly canceled the trip just minutes before the opening match, claiming a security threat.
A few days after New Zealand left, England canceled their planned tour of the country.
Martin Guptill admits,”I’m sure that was a letdown for everyone concerned. We were all hoping to play some cricket and get some game time in before the World Cup, but it wasn’t to be “During a virtual media session, Guptill remarked. “I’m sure Pakistans are eagerly anticipating the return of cricket to their homeland. We’re all hoping that cricket will return to the area shortly.”
