The Mumbai Indians gave their all to do the improbable. But the title defense came to an end in their final league match against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 2021 IPL.
Despite reaching their highest total of 235 in 20 overs, they were eliminated from the playoff race.
Mumbai BEAT Hyderabad by 42 runs
Indians from Mumbai entered the competition on the final day of the 2021 IPL league. Knowing they needed a mountain to climb as they had to beat SRH. With 171 runs to overtake the Kolkata Knight Riders and enter for the third time. in Final Season 4.

Ishan Kishan crushed the fastest fifty of a Mumbai Indians player when he hit the milestone with just 16 balls. He then went on to beat the SRH pitcher, scoring 84 balls out of just 32, hitting 11 limits and 4 sixes.
With windows falling at the other end, Suryakumar Yadav showed flashes of a return to top form, hitting 80 on just 40 balls.
