Mark Boucher named as new head coach of the Mumbai Indians. The Mumbai Indians announced the hiring of former South African wicketkeeper-batter Mark Boucher as their new head coach on Friday.

Mumbai Indians announced the appointment of former South African wicketkeeper-batter Mark Boucher as their new head coach. Effective in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. Earlier this week, Cricket South Africa (CSA) announced that Boucher would step down as head coach of the men’s senior team following the upcoming T20 World Cup, which will be held in Australia in October-November.

Boucher had a long and distinguished career as a wicket-keeper, batsman, and holds the record for the most Test dismissals by a wicket-keeper. Following his retirement, he became the coach of the Titans, a top-level cricket franchise in South Africa, and led them to five domestic titles.

Former Mumbai Indians head coach Mahela Jayawardene name Global Head of Performance by the franchise earlier this week. Zaheer Khan, the former Director of Cricket Operations, has also been promoted. The former India pacer appointed as MI’s Global Head of Cricket Development. According to an official release from the Mumbai Indians, the two form the core of the franchise’s “growing global cricket footprint.”
