Wasim Akram, a Pakistani cricket icon, will instruct Sri Lankan bowlers in preparation for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. The program, which begins on Thursday, will also include training for major club coaches as well as Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) High-Performance Coaches.

Sri Lanka Cricket has launched this program to provide the essential skills to strengthen the coaching strength of the SLC High-Performance Center and the country’s Major Club system. The decision to invite Wasim Akram was made by Sri Lanka Cricket’s Executive Committee, which was led by Mr. Shammi Silva, the President. The training program will begin on May 2, 2024.

“In total, Akram will lead five sessions covering the SLC pace academy, HPC, and top club coaches. He will also examine Sri Lanka’s national players’ preparations for the forthcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. ” The SLC said, as reported by News18.

Wasim Akram had previously served as mentor to Sri Lanka pacer
