Shubman Gill’s spectacular catch of Zimbabwe Centurion Sikandar Raza led India to a series sweep. Gill not only wreaked havoc with the bat. But he also caught Zimbabwe centurion Sikandar Raza, who was on his way to giving the home team a surprise victory.
On Monday, Shubman Gill could do no wrong. The 22-year-old opener hit 130 off 97 balls, including 15 fours and one six, to help India reach 289/8 in 50 overs. It was the youngster’s first senior international ton. Gill’s first century came less than a month after he came agonizingly close with an unbeaten 98 against the West Indies in Port of Spain. He and Ishan Kishan put on a 140-run third-wicket stand before Ishan Kishan run out by Tony Munyonga.
Gill not only wrecked havoc with the bat, but he also caught Zimbabwe centurion Sikandar Raza. Who was on the verge of giving the home team a surprise victory. India appear to be on course for victory when they reduce the hosts to 122-5 with all of their regular scorers except Raza back in the pavilion. However, Pakistan-born Raza overcame poor form in the first two matches to smash 115.
But Gill, bowled by Shardul Thakur in the 49th over, dived full length forward to scoop a great catch and send Raza back to the pavilion. Zimbabwe was 275/9 at the time. Later, the tail failed to deliver, and Zimbabwe’s valiant run chase fell short.

Gill was named player of the match and player of the series after scoring 245 runs in three matches.
