The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has named Nurul Hasan Sohan as their captain for the T20I series against Zimbabwe, replacing Mahmudullah Riyad, who has been rested. Shakib Al Hasan, the team’s ace all-rounder, believes Sohan is deserving of the role, and believes the appointment will benefit the team in the long run.
The all-rounder believes the Zimbabwe series will be a good test for him and that he will be able to overcome it. Meanwhile, Jalal Yunus, the BCB’s Cricket Operations Chairman, clarified that Mahmudullah will continue to be their regular T20I captain.

Bangladesh will play three T20Is and three ODIs in Zimbabwe, beginning on July 30 and August 5, respectively. All games will be held at Harare Sports Club in Harare. This will also be Bangladesh’s first T20I series since the retirement of Tamim Iqbal.
