England has announced their white-ball squads for the South Africa series. England will host South Africa for three ODIs, three T20Is, and three Tests beginning July 19.

The England T20I and ODI squads have been announced for the upcoming six-match white-ball series against South Africa at home. Adil Rashid, the star Yorkshire spinner, returns to both squads after missing the match against India due to Hajj pilgrimage. Jonny Bairstow, the in-form wicketkeeper batter who missed the T20I series against India. Also returned to the squad, while Durham pacer Matthew Potts has been name to the ODI squad following an impressive debut in Test cricket last month.

Ben Stokes is one of the unexpected omissions from the three-match T20I squad. After appearing in England’s last four Test matches, the star all-rounder missed the T20I series against India. As part of his workload management, he has also decided not to participate in the upcoming The Hundred tournament.

Former captain Joe Root left out of the T20I squad yet again. England continues to believe in struggling opening batter Jason Roy, who is in both squads. Roy scored 31 runs in the T20I series against India and has only 23 runs in the first two matches of the ongoing ODI series.

After their third ODI against India on July 17, England has only one day off. Moreover, They are expect to field their strongest lineup for the series finale in Manchester. The first One-Day International (ODI) against South Africa is set for July 19 in Chester-le-Street, with England likely to rest a few senior players. England will also host South Africa in a three-match Test series beginning August 17 at Lord’s.
