Umar Gul appointed as Afghanistan’s bowling coach.
Former Pakistan fast bowler Umar Gul named Afghanistan’s new bowling coach and consultant. On April 4, 2022, he will join the national camp. Gul has training experience both at home and in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
He has been the bowling coach for the Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League. As well as a member of the coaching staff for the Kashmir Premier League. The Galle Gladiators in the Lanka Premier League (LPL).
According to his agreement with the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB), Gul will spend three weeks with the team, and if things go well in the end, he may be given an extension.

Gul, regarded as one of the best pacers in T20I history, will be in charge of improving Afghanistan’s pace bowling unit. Afghanistan has a plethora of quality spinners, but they lack the same number of quality seamers, which has been a source of concern for a long time. Gul began working as a coach shortly after announcing his retirement from international cricket in 2020.
Afghanistan recently hired Graham Thorpe, a former England batter, as their head coach. Gul will be seen in action alongside Thorpe, who resigned from the ECB following their 0-4 Ashes loss.
