Lasith Malinga congratulates Dwayne Bravo on becoming the IPL’s all-time leading wicket-taker.

In the match between the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), veteran and Caribbean all-rounder Dwayne Bravo surpassed Mumbai Indians (MI) pacer Lasith Malinga to become the Indian Premier League’s highest wicket-taker. On the first day of the league, he equaled Malinga’s record by taking his 170th wicket, and he went on to take his 171st in the second game to complete the feat.

Malinga was the type of bowler that every batter dreaded facing. He perfected the art of bowling yorkers. Bravo, on the other hand, has been a finisher for his team, aside from his mastery of the bowling variation in the death overs. The two have come a long way and are now the rulers of their respective forms.

He has been a part of the Indian Premier League since its inception. He spent three years with MI before being drafted by CSK in 2011. Notably, that same year, CSK won their second consecutive title. CSK repurchased him in the mega auction prior to the IPL 2022.
