Sputnik V vaccination: The Philippines received around 2.7 million doses of Russia’s Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine.

2.7 million doses of Russia's Sputnik V vaccine arrive in PH

According to a live video from state-run PTV, the vaccine vials landed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 2 around 3 p.m.

Sputnik V vaccination: According to the National Task Force against COVID-19, the cargo contains 1,350,000 doses of Sputnik V’s Component I vaccine and 1,350,000 doses of its Component II vaccine.

Russian Ambassador to the Philippines Marat Pavlov, Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process chief of staff Assistant Secretary Wilben Mayor, NTF special adviser Dr. Teodoro Herbosa, and Foreign Affairs Assistant Secretary Jaime Ledda, among others, were among those present during the arrival.

According to the NTF, the newest supply boosted the Philippines‘ total vaccination doses to 108,912,460.

Therefore, The National Task Force Against. COVID-19 expressed gratitude to the Russian government for assisting in the acquisition of further Sputnik dosages.

Last Monday, the Philippines set a new milestone in its COVID-19 immunization campaign, with the delivery of 100 million vaccines.

Authorities plan to hold a “national immunization day” for COVID-19 due to increased vaccine supply and stockpile.
