After the squad defeated New Zealand to go to the T20 World Cup final, Wasim Akram, Shoaib Malik, Waqar Younis, and Misbah-ul-Haq were seen dancing in the studio of a Pakistani station.
The Pakistan cricket team staged a stunning return into the T20 World Cup after being all but written off, advancing to the semifinals. Pakistan defeated New Zealand in the tournament’s penultimate round to get to the championship game. Drama filled every step of Pakistan’s trip to the summit conflict. Many people, including some of the team’s previous players, find it unexpected that they have advanced to the tournament’s final. Wasim Akram, Shoaib Malik, Misbah-ul-Haq, and Waqar Younis broke into an impromptu dance after Pakistan overcame the Kiwis, though.
Since the team lost games to India and Zimbabwe in their group matches, the foursome, which has been analyzing Pakistan’s progress in the T20 World Cup on A Sports, has been scathing of captain Babar Azam, wicket-keeper batter Mohammad Rizwan, and a number of other players. On Wednesday, though, nothing could stop them from applauding what Babar & Co. had accomplished.

“Thanks to the crowd. We feel like we’re playing at home. Got a good start with the first 6 overs with the ball. Later on the ball didn’t come on well. Fast bowlers finished well. We planned before going that we’ll utilise the powerplay. He’s a young guy and showing his aggression (Haris). He’s playing very well. We’re going to enjoy this moment. But at the same time have focus on the final.”
At the post-game presentation ceremony, Babar commented on his team’s performance.
Pakistan hasn’t advanced to the tournament’s championship match since the 2009 World T20. Pakistan eventually took home the trophy in that T20 World Cup.
