Ajinkya Rahane Explains Why He Decided To Fire Yashasvi Jaiswal. West Zone were simply at their best on Sunday, defeating South Zone by 294 runs in the Duleep Trophy final. Yashasvi Jaiswal stole the show with a double ton for the West Zone, helping Ajinkya Rahane’s team set a massive target for the South Zone. On the final day of the match, however, Jaiswal grab the spotlight for all the wrong reasons, as he seen engaging in a verbal battle with South Zone’s T Ravi Teja.

Rahane attempted to control him on several occasions, but given that the youngster refuses to quiet down, he decided to send him off for a few overs on the final day of the match.

Rahane discussed the incident after the game, saying: “You must follow the rules and show respect for the game, your opponents, and the umpires. I believe that you should always respect your opponents, umpires, and match officials. You are remove from the field if you do not comply. That is my motto. As a result, you must handle certain incidents in a specific manner.”

Rahane ejected Jaiswal for disciplinary reasons

The fifth and final day of the Duleep Trophy final saw some drama unfold in the middle as Rahane ejected Jaiswal for disciplinary reasons. The entire incident occurred while Jaiswal was regularly attacking South Zone batter T Ravi Teja. Both players continued to insult each other until the umpires decided to speak with Rahane.

During the 50th over of the final innings, Jaiswal and Ravi Teja exchanged words. Rahane rushed in to calm the situation. The experienced player was seen conversing with Jaiswal.

But Jaiswal persisted in harassing Teja, and Rahane decided to expel him. As he walked away from the field, Jaiswal was heard murmuring something to himself.

Jaiswal returned to the field during the 65th over of the game. Earlier, the left-handed batter had hit 263 runs off 323 pitches, setting a 529-run target for South Zone.

South Zone was bundled out for 234 runs in the fourth and final innings, and West Zone won by 294 runs, led by Rahane.
