Shane Watson Selects RCB’s “Standout” Performer For IPL 2022

Shane Watson Selects RCB’s “Standout” Performer For IPL 2022. Former Royal Challengers Bangalore all-rounder Shane Watson has been named the standout performer for Faf du Plessis’s side this season.

Dinesh Karthik, the Royal Challengers Bangalore wicketkeeper-batter, has been in outstanding form for the franchise in the ongoing IPL 2022 season, registering 324 runs in 15 matches. This is the main reason Karthik has been named to India’s T20I squad for the five-match series against South Africa. Karthik is averaging 64.80 for RCB this season, and former Australia all-rounder Shane Watson named the wicketkeeper the franchise’s “standout” performer.

“Josh Hazlewood has shown that with CSK, and now his bowling in T20s has skyrocketed in the last 18 months.” Harshal Patel has added value once more; he has been absolutely brilliant in the last few years. Dinesh Karthik has been the most notable standout. He has added value, as he demonstrated last night (Wednesday against Lucknow Super Giants). To finish off an innings like that, they could have become a little stagnant, but he got 32 of 16 balls to provide that extra little burst. “He’s done it almost every time he’s batted for RCB,” Watson said on the Grade Cricketer Podcast.

Karthik scored 37 runs off 23 balls in the Eliminator against LSG, and he and Rajat Patidar (112 not out) helped RCB post 207/4 in 20 overs. In the end, RCB won by 14 runs and will now face Rajasthan Royals in Qualifier 2.

Watson stated about Faf du Plessis’ leadership: “Even before the tournament began, RCB was one of my favorite teams because of how well they did in the auction and how well-balanced their squad was. That was a great buy for them, Faf du Plessis. Because, knowing that Virat was going to step down, Faf was one of the few players I thought would do a fantastic job of knowing how to get the best out of Virat as a non-captain and sort of steer the franchise in the right direction.”

“It was a brilliant tactical decision to involve and lead Faf.” He’s a great guy and a fantastic leader. He is a very compassionate, caring, and empathetic individual. He was always going to do well, especially with Kohli, Maxwell, and Hazlewood,” he added.

After Mumbai Indians defeated Delhi Capitals, RCB advanced to the playoffs. The Royals finished fourth in the points table.
