Cheteshwar Pujara, a right-handed batter, named to India’s Test squad on Sunday for the rescheduled fifth Test against England in July. Pujara recently represented Sussex in County Championship Division 2 and scored 720 runs, including two double centuries. Pujara told NDTV a day after being named to the Test squad that he is excited to play against England and that his recent performances in the County Championship have been recognized.
“I am honor to have been chosen for the England Test, and I am please that my recent county performances have been recognized. I believe that having spent some time in the middle during the county games will help me as we prepare for the game against England “On Monday, Pujara told NDTV.

Pujara scored four centuries for Sussex, the highest of which was 203 against Durham. He had also scored a double century against Derbyshire.
He hit 109 against Worcestershire and 170 against Middlesex.
Pujara was left out of the Test squad for the two-match series against Sri Lanka earlier this year.
Pujara then decided to play County cricket, and his performances earned him a spot in the Test squad.
Beginning June 24, India will play Leicestershire in a four-day warm-up match.
The rescheduled fifth Test between India and England will take place from July 1 to 5 at Edgbaston in Birmingham.
