David Warner’s magical knock, Tim Paine’s blinder
In the face of Australian fast bowlers, Pakistan’s batting faltered. On Day 2, Michell Starc bowled at his absolute best, collecting four wickets. Pakistan’s top order failed to score runs once again, and the team was put in a precarious position after losing six wickets for 96 runs.
The second day’s focus was on David Warner. Paine also pulled off a blinder behind the stumps. Which was one of the day’s highlights. Michell Starc bowled the 31st over of the innings, and the incident occurred. In the previous over, the Australian pacer was seen trading words with Iftikhar Ahmed (10) in order to divert his attention.
Iftikhar attempted a beautiful cut on a short-pitched ball from Starc on the second delivery of the 31st over. The ball, however, went through the willow and took a thick edge. While diving to his right, wicket-keeper Tim Paine plucked a one-handed stunner.
Babar Azam and Yasir Shah went off the field with 43 runs from 67 deliveries at the end of the second day (4). Pakistan will need to come back strong on Day 3 if they are to avoid a follow-on. Otherwise, they risk a whitewash in a Test series in which they are already behind 1-0.
