Dravid, who tested positive for the virus in a routine test prior to the team’s departure for the continental tournament, has fully recovered from the condition.

After testing positive, the former India captain did not travel with the team.

The BCCI appointed NCA head VVS Laxman as India’s interim coach.

Dravid had been place in home confinement since the positive test result on August 23.

Earlier, BCCI secretary Jay Shah issued a statement. In which he stated that the Indian head coach was suffering from minor symptoms.

“In a routine test conducted prior to the team’s departure to the UAE for the Asia Cup 2022, Team India Head Coach Rahul Dravid tested positive for COVID-19.”

“Dravid is under the care of the BCCI Medical team and is experiencing only minor symptoms.” He will join the team once he receives a negative COVID-19 report,” Shah said in a statement.
