Kieron Pollard sparked outrage on social media after tweeting at former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra. Pollard later deleted that tweet, and while the reason for the West Indian’s tweet is unknown, it could be related to Chopra’s criticism of the all-rounder. The former Indian opener was harsh on Pollard’s poor performance in the IPL 2022.
The Mumbai Indians had a disastrous season in this year’s IPL, finishing at the bottom of the table. The team underperformed as a whole, but Pollard’s performances stood out like a sore thumb. The former West Indies captain was eventually dropped from the squad after scoring only 144 runs in 11 innings.

“Hope the fan base and followers increased @cricketaakash… keep it flowing .. #t20.!!” wrote Pollard in the deleted tweet.
Chopra had chastised Pollard for his poor performance in the IPL 2022.
Kieron Pollard has five IPL titles with Mumbai and has been one of the team’s most consistent performers over the years. On numerous occasions, he has led his team to victory on his own. However, due to his poor form and lack of intent with the bat, the former Indian opener was adamant about leaving the veteran all-rounder out of the squad.
“I believe Kieron Pollard has played his last game.” If they do not keep him, INR 6 crores will be released. Murugan Ashwin (INR 1.6 crore) may also be released. “I’m not sure about Jaydev Unadkat (INR 1.3 crore), but Tymal Mills (INR 1.5 crore) can definitely go,” the ex-India cricketer said on his YouTube channel.
