Jos Buttler Picks “The Best Cover Drive In The Game”: Virat Kohli or Babar Azam. England wicketkeeper-batsman Jos Buttler has weighed in on who has the better cover drive, Virat Kohli or Babar Azam.
Virat Kohli and Babar Azam are two of the modern-day greats, and when they’re on, they’re a joy to watch. Kohli and Babar are vital cogs in their respective batting lineups, and the weight of expectation is on their shoulders every time they walk out to bat. Cover drive is a shot that both of these batters are known for, and fans continue to debate who has the better one of the two.
Jos Buttler, England’s wicketkeeper-batsman, was also asked who has the better cover drive between Kohli and Babar, and he chose the former India captain.
“Which player has the best cover drive in the game: Virat Kohli or Babar Azam?” On ESPNcricinfo’s Polite Enquiries, Butter was asked a question.
“I’m going to say Virat Kohli,” he replied.
Earlier, Australia skipper Aaron Finch had picked Kohli and Babar as masters of cover drive in modern-day cricket. During a Q&A session on Twitter, one Kolkata Knight Riders fan had asked Finch: “Aaron who do you think plays the best cover drive #AskKKR”
“Virat Kohli and Babar Azam – it’s an absolute treat watching the two of these guys play that shot,” Finch responded.
Babar is currently ranked fifth in the Test rankings, while Kohli is ranked tenth.
In one-day internationals, Babar leads the way, with Kohli close behind in second place.
In the shortest format of the game, Babar is first, while Kohli is 16th.
