On Friday, India beat New Zealand for the second time in a row. Giving new coach Rahul Dravid and new T20 captain Rohit Sharma their first series victory.

India won the second T20I against New Zealand by seven wickets on Friday. Taking a commanding 2-0 lead in the three-match series.

The Indian captain and vice-captain started out in opposing methods. En route to their individual half-centuries while chasing a modest 154 in heavy dew conditions.

Rohit, who had been quiet at the outset, stepped up in the middle overs, blasting five sixes and one four on his way to a 36-ball 55. Rahul got off to a fast start, scoring 65 runs off 49 balls, including two sixes and six fours, in a 117-run opening stand that effectively secured the chase.

2nd T20I: The Indian captain now has the most century-plus stands (13), surpassing Babar Azam and Martin Guptill, who both had 12.

The duo were out in the space of 13 balls, but India just needed 19 from 27 balls at that point. Rishabh Pant completed the deal in the 18th over with a straight six over. Jimmy Neesham’s head to send India home with 16 balls to spare.

On Sunday, the third and final T20I will take place at Kolkata’s historic Eden Gardens. Before his skipper could face a delivery, Rahul made his aggressive intent known and raced to 15 off 12 balls.

Rahul was excellent at juggling the ball and playing the aggressor. While Rohit was content to wait in the middle and give India a calm and reasonable start.

Earlier, India used a tight bowling performance from Ravichandran Ashwin and Axar Patel to stifle New Zealand’s blistering start and restrict the visitors to 153 for six.

KL Rahul made a fantastic attempt to catch the ball going backwards, but it slipped from his grasp. Bhuvneshwar threw up 13 runs in his second over after giving up 14 in his first, with Guptill smashing him over the head for a six.

Mitchell joined the fray as the visitors racked up 42 runs in the opening five overs. Before the spin pair of Axar and Ashwin could stop the flow of runs, Deepak Chahar handed India the breakthrough.
