Rinku Singh, an Indian star hitter and hero of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), is enjoying a high following his team’s victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by eight wickets on May 26 to win their third IPL title. He is now concentrating on playing for the Indian team in the USA and the West Indies during the forthcoming ICC T20 World Cup.

The explosive finisher, Shubman Gill, Avesh Khan, and Khaleel Ahmed have been nominated as traveling reserves, but they are not included in India’s 15-man team. He has 356 runs at a strike average of 176.23 in 15 Twenty20 Internationals. If any injuries arise, the 26-year-old might receive his shot on the big stage.

Following the release of the World Cup roster, Rinku speaks with Indian captain Rohit Sharma. Although Rinku expressed some regret at not making it to the final 15, he was inspired to work even harder after speaking with Sharma.

“Yes, anyone feels a little sad if they are not selected despite good performance. However, this time the selection could not take place due to team combination. No matter what, one should not think too much about what is not in one’s hands. Yes, I was a little worried in the beginning. Whatever happens, happens only for good. Rohit bhaiya did not say anything special. All he said was to just keep working hard. There is the World Cup again after two years. There is no need to worry more. That’s all he said to me,” Rinku said in an exclusive interview with Jagran.

My only dream now is for team India to win the trophy: Rinku Singh

In addition, he expressed his confidence in leading the Men in Blue to victory in the T20 World Cup after helping the KKR team win the IPL championship.

“Yes, I will be attending. On the 28th, I have to depart. My goal is to support the team in whatever way I can. That will benefit the team as a whole as well as myself. I now want the World Cup to be won by our team. I also dreamed that we would win the World Cup. The World Cup is a major event to win. Even living on a reserve is a big deal for me coming from where I came from. Right now, all I want is for Team India to win the trophy and for me to hold it. For me, creating a space in the reserve is significant because of where I come from.”

The left-hand hitter talked about his time in the lucrative 17th season of the league, playing under the tutelage of Gautam Gambhir.

“We had an excellent IPL season this time around. Working with Gautam Gambhir sir was a lot of joy. much knowledge from him. This time, there was a great team vibe. What could be more ideal than us emerging victorious? Now, if we win additional World Cup titles, that will be enjoyable,” he said.
