Jos Buttler to miss third T20I to attend birth of child. In the second Twenty20 International, Buttler scored fifty runs and was named Player of the Match.

Due to a paternity leave, England captain Jos Buttler will miss the third Twenty20 International match against Pakistan in Cardiff. Due to the impending birth of his third kid, the opener has quit the team and returned to London. He did not participate in the Monday, May 27, practice session. It is yet unknown if the stumper-batter will be available for the series’ last game before England departs for the T20 World Cup in the West Indies.

Veteran all-rounder Moeen Ali will captain the team in his absence

Buttler’s status is also confirmed by the fact that he is now anticipated to be available for the duration of the T20 World Cup. Ali, who was poised to replace Buttler as captain halfway through, had earlier said that he wouldn’t make many changes and that it would be an honor for him.

It is, of course, always a huge honor if it comes to pass. I’ll be alright. Nothing will alter too much; it’s just a matter of taking over from his work and he’ll take over when he returns, according to a remark from Moeen obtained by ESPNcricinfo.

“Hopefully, the baby arrives when it won’t cause him to miss too many games. I simply accept that whatever occurs, will occur. To be honest with you, deputizing is not that tough because Jos and I talk a lot. We discuss the team, other topics, and other things. In any case, we’re in agreement,” he continued.

Rain forced the cancellation of the first Twenty20 International of the series between Pakistan and England, but England won easily in the second match by a margin of 23 runs. Jonny Bairstow is probably going to open alongside Phil Salt in Buttler’s absence. If the club management chooses not to alter Bairstow’s role, Ben Duckett is ready to step in. However, Sam Curran can play at number four if they want to go with Bairstow.
