Michael Vaughan opens up about Rinku Singh’s subpar form

Michael Vaughan opens up about Rinku Singh’s subpar form. “When you play for Australia, you perform so good,” said Tiwary.

On May 22, the Rajasthan Royals defeated Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the Indian Premier League 2024 Eliminator. The loss ended RCB’s six-match winning streak and their quest for the IPL trophy. While many things did not go their way in the game, Faf du Plessis joked during the post-match presentation that the team was at least 20 runs short.

Glenn Maxwell stood out in the RCB’s batting lineup. When the team needed a responsible innings, Maxwell made a careless shot on the first ball and left. He was also terrible in the field, dropping a sitter off Tom Kohler-Cadmore. Former India cricketer Manoj Tiwary chastised Maxwell for his poor performance and claimed that the Australian has no interest in the IPL.

“You have so much international cricket experience… when you play for Australia, you do so well. But I’m not sure what happens to him once you get to the IPL. It appears that he has no interest. He doesn’t care if he gets out. His bank balance is fine, and the cheque will reach him on time. He’ll get together at night, have a laugh, and get photos taken,” Tiwary told Cricbuzz.

The end result is the trophy, which isn’t there: Tiwary

The Men-in-Red orchestrated a comeback for the ages, starting in 10th place and winning six consecutive games in the second half. Du Plessis emphasized the same point after losing the Eliminator and expressed pride in his team’s performance. However, Tiwary believed that the ultimate goal for any team is to win a trophy, and Bengaluru fell short in that regard.

“What is the final result? You play to win. When Bengaluru wasn’t performing well, we sat right here and analysed why. At the end of the day, they may be pleased that they won six consecutive matches to qualify, but the end result is a trophy that is not present. So, the problem exists,” he added.
