Kris Srikkanth slams franchise and fans after RCB’s elimination from IPL 2024

Kris Srikkanth slams franchise and fans after RCB’s elimination from IPL 2024. “They were posting unnecessary videos and showing off too much,” Srikkanth said.

After winning six consecutive matches, Royal Challengers Bengaluru were hoping to defeat Rajasthan Royals in the Eliminator of the ongoing IPL 2024 and advance to the Qualifier 2. However, the Sanju Samson-led side had the last laugh at the Narendra Modi Stadium, defeating the Faf du Plessis-led side by four wickets, and with that, RCB’s quest for their first IPL title continues.

Notably, the Ruturaj Gaikwad-led team finished the season with a dismal record, while RCB played remarkably well and qualified for the playoffs in a must-win match against Chennai Super Kings. Following the game, CSK supporters accused RCB supporters of hooliganism; at one time, this complaint trended on X (previously Twitter). In light of this, former Indian cricket player Kris Srikkanth bluntly declared that following RCB’s victory over CSK, supporters ought to have stayed indoors and refrained from posting pointless videos.

The 64-year-old further stated that he thought the team’s and the supporters’ arrogance after defeating CSK contributed to their elimination-round loss to RR.

“In life, when you are doing well, keep your mouth shut and keep going; when you make a fuss about something you are doing, you will be unable to complete the task. They were posting unnecessary videos and bragging too much (following the win over CSK). That’s why Ashwin came and destroyed them; in cricket, you have to shut your mouth and play,” Srikkanth said on his YouTube channel.

If you played poorly then take the criticism: Kris Srikkanth

Srikkanth asked the RCB to accept criticism in the same way that they accepted applause. He noted that the team began celebrating six consecutive wins and displayed unnecessary aggression.

“If you played well, congratulations; if you played poorly, accept the criticism, but never open your mouth and show aggression. CSK and Mumbai have both emerged from nowhere to win titles. These guys won six matches, but as soon as they qualified, they were eliminated,” he added.
