Crowd goes berserk as MS Dhoni walks out to bat in Lucknow

Crowd goes berserk as MS Dhoni walks out to bat in Lucknow. MS Dhoni’s nine-ball 28 was in vain as LSG defeated CSK by eight wickets.

MS Dhoni is entertaining the crowd with his brief but impactful cameos in the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL). A few nights ago, the 42-year-old ‘youngster’ slammed 20 off just 4 balls against Mumbai Indians (MI), and on April 19, he hit 28 off 9 balls against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). Though his recent knock was in vain, CSK fans were ecstatic to see their beloved ‘Thala’ dominate the death overs once more.

Sasha revealed on her Instagram story after the match that when MSD came out to bat, the sound level reached 95 decibels, as indicated by her smartwatch. A notice followed, stating that even 10 minutes of exposure to this sound level could result in temporary hearing loss.

“Loud environment. Sound levels reached 95 decibels. “Just 10 minutes at this level can cause temporary hearing loss,” read a note on the Proteas cricketer’s wife’s smartwatch.

Nicholas Pooran calls Dhoni a ‘national hero’

CSK were 141 for 6 after 17.5 overs when Dhoni came out to bat. The legendary captain demonstrated his vintage power-hitting by scoring a quick 28 runs to electrify the crowd and lead the team to a respectable 176. LSG, on the other hand, barely broke a sweat in the chase, with De Kock and KL Rahul adding 134 runs for the first wicket to help them win by eight wickets.

LSG’s big hitter Nicholas Pooran was taken aback by the crowd’s love for Dhoni during an away match. The Caribbean cricketer referred to Dhoni as a national hero and expressed his desire to share memories of the game with his children and grandchildren.

“It’s not only this season, but every season. When he was coming in with the bat, there was a sea of yellow outside. It was amazing to see. He is a national hero,” Pooran told Star Sports.

“We did not play when Brian Lara was active; everyone is a huge fan of his. But it is nice to see something like that. It feels good to be in that position, but I’m also happy to be at the park with him and share those memories with our children and grandchildren,” Pooran said.
