When the pacer was selected by the Lucknow Super Giants to join their bowling lineup for the Indian Premier League 2022, he had only played in two List A games. But he was benched during the season, and he missed the next one due to a hamstring injury. However, he appears to have made up for lost time in the IPL 2024 by speaking with his captivating spells.
When the 21-year-old made his LSG debut against the Punjab Kings in the IPL 2024, he made it apparent what he wanted. During his outing, the right arm pacer recorded a speed of 155.8 kph.
When he was armed with the ball, the batters could not afford to blink. However, on March 2, he came out swinging for Royal Challengers Bengaluru. With the first ball of the eighth over, the young batsman hit a speed of 156.7 kph on the speed gun against Cameron Green.

Dale Steyn mightily impressed with Yadav
Former South African pacer Dale Steyn, who had challenged many hitters with his pace throughout his career, was quite pleased with Mayank Yadav’s speed.
Steyn, impressed by Yadav’s fiery spell, tweeted, “That’s a serious ball!”.
