Rohit Sharma asks Wankhede crowd to not ‘boo’ Hardik Pandya

Rohit Sharma asks Wankhede crowd to not ‘boo’ Hardik Pandya. Hardik Pandya received unpleasant reaction from the crowd during the Mumbai Indians’ first home game of the season.

Hardik Pandya, the captain of the Mumbai Indians, did not have a memorable first visit to Wankhede Stadium after being named captain because he was again the target of violent fan behavior on Monday, April 1. The match was against the Rajasthan Royals. At the toss, the all-rounder met with loud jeers, which prompt pundit Sanjay Manjrekar to implore the crowd to behave.

The anger at the stadium grew as Pandya fail to save Mumbai’s innings after they were reduce to 20/4 after 3.3 overs and dismiss for 34 (21). Just when he thought things couldn’t get much worse, Pandya drop Jos Buttler at covers during the fourth over. Eliciting thunderous ‘boos’ from the Wankhede Stadium.

The MI captain, with the whole world against him, tried to hide his fears behind a sardonic smile as he looked up to the sky, asking the higher powers for help. Former MI captain Rohit Sharma intervened and ask the supporters to cool down after his replacement was subject to objectionable crowd behavior. He did this by making hand gestures while fielding on the boundary.

The heartwarming scene quickly went viral on social media, with followers praising Rohit for his generous act.
