It’s my dream as well to know what it feels like to win the IPL: Virat Kohli

It’s my dream as well to know what it feels like to win the IPL: Virat Kohli. Virat Kohli hasn’t been able to win an IPL trophy after playing for 16 years for RCB.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women (RCB-W) made history by winning the Women’s Premier League 2024 (WPL 2024), defeating Delhi Capitals (DC-W) in the final. As a result, the Smriti Mandhana-led side helped the RCB club win its first title in 16 years. Notably, RCB’s men’s squad has not won an IPL trophy since its start in 2008, despite reaching the finals three times in 2009, 2011, and 2016.

Despite their terrible tournament record, the Bengaluru-based club has a large fan base thanks to the presence of India’s great batsman Virat Kohli. Kohli was selected by RCB in an Under 19 draft ahead of the inaugural season of the IPL in 2008, and the rest is history. The Delhi-born cricketer moved quickly through the ranks to become one of cricket’s biggest stars.

Despite his immense successes on the cricket pitch, the former RCB captain has yet to win an IPL title. Kohli recently spoke at the RCB unbox event at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, congratulating the women’s team on their WPL victory and expressing his hope that the franchise would win the IPL 2024 as well. The top hitter also stated that it is his dream to experience what it is like to win the IPL.

I will do all in my power and experience to help the fans and the franchise: Kohli

“Hopefully, we can double up on the trophies. That will be something absolutely remarkable. I will always be here, hoping to be a member of the squad that wins for the first time. I will do my best with my ability and experience to benefit the fans and the franchise. It is also a dream of mine to experience the thrill of winning the IPL,” Kohli remarked at the RCB unboxing ceremony.

Notably, RCB will kick off their IPL 2024 campaign with a game against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Friday, March 22 at Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium. Once again, RCB fans will be counting on Kohli to guide his team to the playoffs with his outstanding batting exploits.
