The Rajkot airport closes down at 6 as there are no flights from there after 6. I didn’t know what to do. Rohit (Sharma) and Rahul (Dravid) Bhai came to my room and Rohit literally asked me to stop thinking and leave to be there with my family. And he was trying to arrange a charter flight for me,” Ashwin revealed the details on his YouTube channel.

“Kamlesh, the team physio, is a close friend of mine. Rohit offer to fly with me to Chennai and join me, but I persuade him to stay back. When I went down, security and Kamlesh were already waiting. Kamlesh received a call from Rohit on our way to the airport. Checking in on me and literally asking him to be with me during this difficult time. It was 9:30 at night. “I was just stunned,” the 37-year-old added.

Furthermore, Ashwin expressed his admiration for the ‘Hitman’

“I can’t even think about it.” I could only talk to two people there. What if nobody was present? I just thought that if I were captain, I would tell my players to go home. There are no second thoughts about it. Will I be calling people to check on him? I do not know. Unbelievable. “I saw an outstanding leader in Rohit Sharma that day,” Ashwin said, complimenting Rohit on his incredible gesture.
