PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi asks Pakistan cricket team to train with country’s army. The camp with the Pakistan army will be conduct from March 25 to April 8, 2024.

The Pakistan national cricket team will join the army for a ten-day training camp from March 25 to April 8 to improve their fitness ahead of upcoming important assignments.

The camp will begin a week after the PSL (Pakistan Super League) 2024 ends, as announced by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi on Tuesday, March 5. Speaking of the same, Naqvi state that he had never seen a Pakistani player hit a six in the stands in the PSL, and whenever one was hit, he assumed it was a foreign player, highlighting the growing importance of the Pakistan army training camp.

“When I was watching the matches in Lahore, I don’t think any of you hit a six into the stands. When I saw a six like that, I assumed it was hit by a foreign player. I’ve asked the board to devise a strategy for increasing each player’s fitness level. ESPNcricinfo quoted Naqvi as saying, “You will have to make a proper effort for that.”

Furthermore, the PCB chairman stated that following the New Zealand series, there will be an England tour, in addition to having to play against Ireland. Given the tight schedule, the board identified a short period of time for players to train before competing in the marquee event.
