Sunil Gavaskar wants Ashwin to lead Indian team to field in Dharamsala Test. “I just hope Rohit allows you to lead the squad out onto the field. “That will be a wonderful gesture, an honour for everything you have done for Indian cricket,” Gavaskar said Ashwin on JioCinema.

Sunil Gavaskar, the legendary cricketer, sent a heartfelt wish for India’s senior off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin as he approaches his 100th test match. The fifth Test in the present series against England at Dharamsala is a big milestone for Ashwin. Who has been a key member of the Indian cricket team since his debut in Test cricket.

Notably, in his 99th Test, Ashwin demonstrate his excellence by taking 5 wickets for 51 runs in England’s second innings, marking his 35th five-wicket haul in the longest format of the game. Overall, he has 507 Test wickets in 99 matches and is regarded as a cricketing icon.

Ashwin prepares for his 100th Test match, Gavaskar wishes for a proper commemoration.

Gavaskar urged that India captain Rohit Sharma let Ashwin lead the team on the field during the last Test at Dharamsala. Such a gesture would recognise the veteran spinner’s significant services to Indian cricket throughout the years.

“If India wins tomorrow, and you travel to Dharamshala (for the fifth and final Test). I hope Rohit allows you to lead the team out on the field. That would be a beautiful gesture, an honor for what you have done for Indian cricket. ” Gavaskar stated while speaking with Ashwin on JioCinema

Ashwin answered by expressing his gratitude and stating that he has exceede these objectives and hopes to serve the club for the longest period feasible.

“Sunny bhai, you are being quite generous; thank you very much. However, in terms of expectations, I believe I have moved on. But I honestly appreciate every second I spend with this crew. Ashwin stated, “The longer it lasts, the happier I will be.”
