Mohammed Shami will consult an expert in London for an ankle injury. Shami has been out of play since the 2023 ODI World Cup.

Mohammed Shami, a star Indian fast bowler, will allegedly fly to England to meet with an expert about his ankle ailment. Which has kept him out of play since the ODI World Cup 2023. Notably, the speedster battled his injuries throughout the World Cup. Finishing as the tournament’s highest wicket-taker with 24 wickets in just seven games.

According to reports, Shami’s recuperation is on track. The medical team at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) is pleased with his development. The 33-year-old began his training session after being ruled out of the two-match Test series against South Africa. He plan to return during the upcoming five-match Test series against England.

Shami did not recover in time and thus left out of the squad for the first two Tests against England.

According to Cricbuzz, Shami will leave for London soon. Accompanied by Nitin Patel, the head of the NCA’s Sports Science section, with whom he worked on his injury.

According to the report, the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) could possibly send wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant to London. Notably, the 26-year-old has been undergoing rehabilitation at the NCA since his horrible vehicle accident on December 30, 2022, and has made tremendous progress in his recuperation.

Pant will make his comeback during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. Apart from Pant, Mumbai batsman Prithvi Shaw, who has been nursing a knee ailment, would require another month to return to competitive cricket. Shaw is also now undergoing rehabilitation at the NCA, with the MCA (Mumbai Cricket Association) hoping to get him back for the Ranji Trophy knockout rounds.

In August 2023, the 24-year-old sustained an injury while playing for Northamptonshire in the Royal London One Day Cup against Durham.
