I don’t believe Harshal Patel is overpaid in IPL: AB De Villiers

I don’t believe Harshal Patel is overpaid in IPL: AB De Villiers. Punjab Kings paid INR 11.75 crore for the cricketer’s services.

Harshal Patel released by Royal Challengers Bangalore ahead of the upcoming season after a disastrous season with the ball in IPL 2023. Punjab Kings paid INR 11.75 crore in the auction to acquire the pacer. There has been much debate about whether the cricketer is being overvalued after a dismal season. Speaking on the subject, former South Africa captain AB de Villiers stated that Harshal is a fantastic T20 cricketer and that he is not being overpaid.

Harshal, according to the 39-year-old, will flourish in Mohali and Dharamsala, where the conditions are far superior than those in Bengaluru. He also mentioned that Harhsal is great with slower balls and has some dangerous bouncers on his team.

“Harshal is asking a cool 11.75 crore.” I don’t believe Harshal Patel getting overpaid. He’s an outstanding player. He is a fantastic T20 cricketer. He is also capable of hitting the cricket ball. “The slower ball he bowls confuses a lot of batters,” De Villiers explained on his YouTube channel.

“Absolutely. He’s a winner on every wicket. He has an X-factor slower ball that flies above almost eye level and soon drops below. Almost like Dwayne Bravo used to have. He also has a really fast bouncer and isn’t afraid to utilize it,” he added.

Punjab Kings added eight new players in the auction

Meanwhile, Chris Woakes (INR 4.20 crore) and Rilee Rossouw (INR 8 crore) have joined Punjab along with five uncapped players. There was a lot of debate about Shashank Singh because the franchise stuck on his name after the hammer fell. They attempted to resolve the matter during the auction, but nothing came of it.

They took it to X, however, and explained that the problem arose because two players had the same name, but they were glad to sign the player in the end. Shashank also spoke out about the situation, stating that he is eager to join the squad.
