Hardik led Gujarat to a title win in their debut season

The then-28-year-old was hired as captain of the newly-formed IPL team Gujarat Titans for INR 15 crore, and he was a huge success. Pandya led Gujarat to an IPL victory in their maiden season with a spectacular performance in which he hit 487 runs from 15 matches (the most for his side). The seamer also took eight wickets at an average of 27.75 and an economy of 7.28, making him only the second skipper in IPL history to win the title in his first season.

After guiding GT to back-to-back IPL finals, Pandya has returned to Mumbai, where he will be expected to carry on Rohit Sharma’s legacy.
