During the preshow for India’s Super 4 match against Pakistan in Asia Cup 2023, Akram stated that he told Kohli that he even appears in his dreams. Further emphasizing his statement to the Indian batter, he stated that he can’t get his face out of his mind since he sees it everywhere.
“Virat, Babar, Shaheen, and all the other match winners play this game for these moments – India vs. Pakistan.” I mean, everyone wants to perform for Pakistan and vice versa. This is a make-or-break situation. Not for Virat Kohli and Babar Azam, but for young men. These games are entertaining. “Everyone in Colombo was buzzing yesterday,” Akram continued.

The pair went on a stunning 121-run stand off 100 balls, taking Shaheen Afridi to the cleaners. Following a strong start, India are 140/2 after 22 overs, with Virat Kohli (6 off 12) and KL Rahul (13 off 18) at the crease.
