Bangladesh reach Super Four stage by defeating Afghanistan
In terms of Bangladesh’s performance in the Asia Cup 2023, the team kicked off their campaign against Sri Lanka. They were, however, overwhelmed by their opponents’ talent. Sri Lanka won easily, but Bangladesh got off to a disastrous start.
However, in their following game against Afghanistan, they were able to make apologies. Bangladesh batted first against Afghanistan and had a superb first innings performance. Mehidy Hasan and Najmul Hossain Shanto both hit hundreds to assist the team amass 334 runs.

Bangladesh will attempt to replicate their performance in the Super Four rounds of the competition after winning by 89 runs.
