India struggle early on against quality Pakistan pace attack

In what came as a great surprise to everyone, Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to bat first in cloudy conditions. Both India batsmen were cautious in the early portions of the game before the rain delay.

After the match resumed, however, everything went wrong for the Men in Blue as Pakistan’s great bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi displayed his superb bowling. The left-arm bowler first dismissed Rohit for 11 off 22 deliveries before dismissing Virat Kohli with two peach deliveries.

With Shreyas Iyer and Shubman Gill at the crease, India soon found themselves at 27/2. Iyer, who is making his comeback after a months-long ailment, was anticipated to rescue India. The right-hand batsman, though, failed once more, falling to Haris Rauf in the 10th over.

Gill was also caught by Rauf, leaving the team at 66/4 in the 15th over. The Men in Blue are still struggling at 90/4 after 17.2 overs.
