The ODI World Cup 2023 due to kick off on October 5
The world’s finest sides will soon be competing for the coveted crown. With India hosting the tournament for the first time, Pakistan is expected to experience a heavy atmosphere.
Given India and Pakistan’s rivalry, the Babar Azam-led side may expect some fervent Indian fans when they travel to the host country to compete in the forthcoming World Cup 2023. However, prior of the World Cup, Pakistan all-rounder Shadab Khan urged his team to manage the pressure from Indian supporters and noted how the absence of fan support will require a lot of effort to overcome.
“In India, we won’t have the crowd support. In that sense, we’ll need to be mentally tough. I believe we will have a successful competition based on the mental strength of our athletes. Winning the World Cup in India would be the cherry on top… “Whoever comes will definitely come to win the tournament, but the key is how you as a team play and how you start because we will have to play against every team; it’s a great opportunity for all the teams,” Shadab Khan was cited as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
Pakistan face India on October 14
The World Cup begins on October 5 with England taking on New Zealand at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium. On October 14, the highly anticipated India-Pakistan match will take place at the same venue. Furthermore, prior to the World Cup, both India and Pakistan will compete in the Asia Cup 2023, which is set to begin on August 30. Sri Lanka and Pakistan are co-hosting the tournament. On September 2, India and Pakistan will meet in Pallekele.
