Gayle yet to announce his retirement 

During his pomp, Gayle was one of the most lethal openers in international cricket. He has played 103 Tests, 301 ODIs, and 79 T20Is for the West Indies, amassing over 19000 runs. He was a member of West Indies’ winning teams in the 2004 Champions Trophy, 2012, and 2016. The 43-year-old played his final match during the T20 World Cup in 2021 and has yet to announce his retirement.

Meanwhile, the West Indies are struggling in the Cricket World Cup Qualifiers, losing two of their four group games to the Netherlands and Zimbabwe. To make a return in the Super Sixes stage, the Shai Hope-led team will have to play out of their skin.
