In the present IPL 2023, Mumbai Indians (MI) captain Rohit Sharma has had a rough spell, according to former India batter Virender Sehwag. Notably, the captain has struggled to score often and has recorded two consecutive ducks in the previous two games.
Sehwag remarked on Rohit’s unsuccessful campaign before the keenly awaited match against Royal Challengers Bangalore and said that his troubles have been more psychological than mechanical.
“Rohit Sharma is not battling with the bowlers but with himself. There is a mental block. There’s no problem with his batting technique. Some confusion is going on in his mind. But the day he gets going, we will make up for all the previous matches,”
Sehwag told.
In 10 games this season, Rohit has only scored a meager 184 runs at a dismal average of 18.40. In addition, he established a disgraceful record by recording his 16th duck, which is the most in the history of the top-tier league, during the match against CSK, his bitter opponents.
Virat Kohli’s commitment is praised by Imran Tahir.
Imran Tahir, a former South African cricketer, praised RCB batsman Virat Kohli’s commitment and effort in the same part. According to Tahir, the flamboyant batter’s desire to score runs regularly over the past 15 years is commendable.
“Virat Kohli has always had the urge to score runs. What Virat has done in the last 15 years is really commendable,”
Tahir told.
Despite facing a lot of backlash for his batting style, Kohli has scored 419 runs at an average of 46.56 and six fifty-pluses to his credit. On Tuesday, May 9, RCB and MI play a match that is essential since the outcome will be crucial for qualifying for the play-offs.
