As Venkatesh Iyer gets the first century for KKR in nearly 15 years, Twitter responds. ‘Venkatesh Iyer is Indian version of Chris Gayle’. In the history of the IPL, only Venkatesh Iyer has ever struck a century for KKR. The first one was register in 2008 by Brendon McCullum.

Venkatesh Iyer, a flamboyant batter, received a lot of flak for struggling in the IPL 2022. The all-round was never again given consideration for the Indian team. While Afghanistan stumper-batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz managed to score just eight runs off of 12 deliveries, opener Narayan Jagadeesan was unable to start his innings.

Venkatesh Iyer was able to give KKR a strong start in Mumbai
