Rahul could have scored more if he had maintained his aggressive strategy: Harbhajan Singh

Rahul could have scored more if he had maintained his aggressive strategy: Harbhajan Singh. KL Rahul scored 20 runs from 71 deliveries, with a single boundary.

Former Indian bowling great Harbhajan Singh criticized KL Rahul’s batting strategy during the first innings of India’s first Test against Australia in Nagpur. Rahul might have scored more runs, according to the ex-cricketer, if he had showed more desire at the crease during India’s first innings.

KL Rahul, who batted first for India alongside Rohit Sharma, formed a good opening partnership with the Indian captain. But, towards the tail end of the first day, the exquisite opener threw away his wicket with a sloppy shot. He hit a single boundary and scored 20 runs off 71 deliveries.

Despite his useful performance, Harbhajan Singh believes he might have made more of his start if he had showed more positive purpose at the bat. The former Indian cricketer added that it would have done wonders for Rahul’s confidence, which has been lacking recently.

I doubt Australia will be able to score more than 200 in the second innings: Harbhajan

In terms of the Indian innings, the legendary cricketer aimed for a score of more than 300 runs in the first innings, which may be difficult for the Aussies, who would struggle to come close to the 200-run barrier. He believes the visitors would face a difficult second innings against a world-class Indian spin attack.

“I’m expecting India gets 300-350 on this pitch. Captain Rohit Sharma began a fantastic inning (and) is still not out with more than 50 runs. If India gets close to 350, I doubt Australia would score more than 200 in the second innings. This pitch will spin more the more you bowl on it. If it spins, Australia would succumb to India’s three spinners “He went on to say.
