Sunrisers Hyderabad will be up against Rajasthan Royals in the fifth match of IPL 2022 at the MCA Stadium in Pune. Both Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals have struggled with issues of consistency in recent seasons and will be searching for rhythm in the competition this time around.

Sunrisers Hyderabad have been one of the most disappointing teams in the Indian Premier League lately. They finished at the bottom of the table in IPL 2021 in a season where everything went wrong for the franchise. The very public feud with David Warner followed by his sacking mid-way through the competition did little to change the fate of the team. Kane Williamson’s side has also had to deal with a plethora of injury problems as well as poor management from the dugout.

Sunrisers Hyderabad didn’t exactly have a great time at the IPL 2022 mega auction table either. Although they’ve brought in a few reinforcements who can definitely taken on the opposition, it remains to be seen whether that will be enough to make SRH competitive again.

Rajasthan Royals have been in the headlines recently but for non-cricketing reasons. That is because they’ve largely been disappointing since their return to the IPL in 2018. Rajasthan Royals finished second from bottom in the league table last season, at the bottom of the table in IPL 2020 and second from bottom as well in IPL 2019. Rajasthan Royals haven’t been clinical enough under newly appointed captain Sanju Samson.

They probably learnt their lessons over the last three seasons and as a result, built an extremely competitive batting order in the IPL 2022 mega auction. The Royals do not lack hard-hitters who can change the course of the match at a moment’s notice. The acquisition of Yuzvendra Chahal for INR 6.5 CR was one of the best deals in the auction this time around! However, the absence of a game-changing all-rounder might end up hurting Rajasthan Royals over the course of the season.

There’s little to separate the two teams in the IPL head-to-head record. Sunrisers Hyderabad have won eight matches while Rajasthan Royals have been victorious on seven occasions. SRH and RR both managed a victory each against each other over the last three seasons.

  Head-to-head record

Wins: Sunrisers Hyderabad 8, Rajasthan Royals 7

Last 5 matches: Sunrisers Hyderabad 3, Rajasthan Royals 2

Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals have been extremely inconsistent lately. Both the teams can go from high to low pretty quick. With that being said, Rajasthan Royals might have a minor advantage heading into this match because their squad looks better on paper. It will be interesting to see how captain Sanju Samson utilizes the tools at his disposal this season.

Head to our SRH vs RR Prediction analysis loaded with stats.

Sunrisers Hyderabad have strengthened their middle-order which was an obvious chink in the armour for them in IPL 2021. However, the loss of Rashid Khan could prove to be a huge concern for the team. Rashid is one of the best T20 bowlers in the world and SRH haven’t been able to replace him well in the auction. Fitness issues of Bhuvneshwar Kumar and T Natarajan could also hamper the pace-bowling unit.

For Rajasthan Royals all eyes will be on their batting unit comprising stars like Devdutt Padikkal, Jos Buttler, Shimron Hetmyer, Rassie van der Dussen and Sanju Samson. Yuzvendra Chahal will also be a player to watch out for. However, the absence of a world-class all-rounder might hurt the side’s balance.

Yuzvendra Chahal is one of the most accomplished spin bowlers to emerge out of the Indian Premier League and find sustained success. He was one of the pillars of the Royal Challengers Bangalore team and would love to replicate his form here. Chahal has 139 wickets in 114 IPL matches in his career at an average of 22.28.

Kane Williamson, Rahul Tripathi and Washington Sundar could prove to be the contenders for the man of the match award from the SRH camp. From Rajasthan Royals, Sanju Samson, Shimron Hetmyer, Yuzvendra Chahal and Trent Boult could be key.

Kane Williamson is the most dependable batter in the Sunrisers Hyderabad lineup. He is a top-quality run-scorer who has a high IPL career average of above 40.

Devdutt Padikkal has been phenomenal since his breakthrough in the IPL with Royal Challengers Bangalore. The left-hander has scored 884 runs in two seasons at an average of 31.57 but needs to improve his strike rate of 125.04. Padikkal also scored his maiden IPL century last season.

Sunrisers Hyderabad would be taking on the Rajasthan Royals in the 26th game of the IPL 2020. The two sides are coming into this game with contrasting forms. Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated the Kings XI Punjab by a big margin to move up to the third place on the points table while Rajasthan Royals went down against the Delhi Capitals in the last game which has pushed them to the 7th place on the points table increasing problems for the side.

In the last few seasons Sunrisers Hyderabad has clearly dominated the Rajasthan Royals winning four out of the last five games. Sunrisers also have their openers in good form which will be adding to their confidence. For the Rajasthan Royals it is a mix of poor batting as well as bowling that has led to their downfall. With their backs to the wall the side will have to come up with something special to win this game.

David Warner would confident about his side’s form after their big win against the Kings XI Punjab in the last game. The side batted well and were great with their bowling as they won the game by a huge margin of 69 runs. With this win the side has now moved to the third place on the points table and shall be looking to move further up with a win in this game. They have a good record against the Royals and Warner would like to improve it in this game.

Their opening combination of Warner and Jonny Bairstow looks in good form and they stitched a 160 run stand in the last game. Abdul Samad and Manish Pandey have scored runs in earlier games and the pair would look to anchor the innings in the middle overs. With Kane Williamson, Priyam Garg and Abhishek Sharma to follow the side looks strong with its batting firepower going into this contest.

Despite the setback with injuries their bowlers did well in the last game. Sandeep Sharma and Khaleel Ahmed were spot on with their line opening the bowling. The side will expect a similar show from them in this game. Rashid Khan has been troubling the batsmen and the side would want him to carry on with the same form. Abhishek Sharma and T Natarajan add great balance to this bowling attack.

Steven Smith’s side suffered yet another loss in their last game against the Delhi Capitals. Poor bowling and inability to build partnerships led to their 46 run defeat. The side which has made a strong start two wins in two games has lost the last four games in a row and moved to the 7th spot on the points table. They will need to bounce back from here to keep their hopes alive for a place in the playoffs.

Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler will have to get their side off to a good start. They have failed as a par so far in the tournament. Steven Smith and Sanju Sampson have seen dip in form which has hurt the side and for the side to win the game these two will have to be at their best. Rahul Tewatia has played well but the side would need more contributions from the likes of Mahipal Lamror and Andrew Tye in this game.

Varun Aaron was expensive in the last game and needs to make good use of the new ball. Jofra Archer has been at his best so far but he will need good support from Andrew Tye in this game. It will be a hot and humid afternoon at Dubai on October 10 at the start of the game. The pitch has been flat so far and there hasn’t been much in there for the bowlers. We have seen the track get slower as the tournament has progressed but it is still a great pitch to bat on. The side that bats first here would need to target a score of around 170 runs here to win the game.

Dubai International Cricket Stadium has the largest outfield in UAE where hitting the ball over the boundary is a challenge. But the track is a great one to bat on and the quick outfield also aids the batsmen. Fast bowlers struggle here as there is no assistance from the surface.  It has been a happy hunting ground for the spinners who have used the slowness of the track to their advantage.

Teams batting first have won the last four out of five games that have been played at this venue. It will be an afternoon game and the bowling conditions would be tough in the first innings. Thus the two captains at the toss would have no hesitation in srh vs rr cricket bettingSunrisers Hyderabad vs Rajasthan Royals,Indian Premier League 2020,Today Match Prediction 11 Oct 2020 opting to bat first upon winning the toss.

It will be a very important contest for the Rajasthan Royals as they play the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 40th game of Indian Premier League, 2021. The side comes here with a loss against the Delhi Capitals and needs to win this one to keep their hopes alive for the rest of the season. The Sunrisers Hyderabad went down against Punjab Kings in the last game making a mess of the chase.

The Sunrisers Hyderabad would be low on confidence after performing poorly in the last game. The side has won just one game this year and they are already out of contention for a place in the next round. It remains to be seen if the Sunrisers can get over the mental obstacle and defeat Rajasthan Royals in the next game.

Kane Williamson’s side doesn’t seem to have the confidence to win games. In one of the worst performances by the side ever they failed to chase a victory target of 126 runs in the last game against Punjab Kings losing by 5 runs. With one win in nine games, the side has a lot to catch up and Williamson would need to ignite a fire in the side to win this game.

David Warner will have to deliver as being one of the most important players in the line-up his poor form is hurting and set up a good partnership with Wriddhiman Saha. The middle-order is also looking fragile, and Williamson needs to set up partnerships with Manish Pandey and Kedar Jadhav. Jason Holder looks in good form must do well alongside Abdul Samad and Rashid Khan down the order.

Their bowlers did a good job in the last game, but Bhuvneshwar Kumar was expensive. He will have to strike early with Sandeep Sharma. Holder, Khaleel Ahmed, and Rashid Khan bowled well in the last game and similar lines would be expected from them. They would be up against a strong batting unit and must compensate for the poor form of their batsmen.

  Top Batsman – David Warner

  Top Bowler – Rashid Khan

  Sunrisers Hyderabad Predicted Playing XI:
Kane Williamson (c), David Warner, Wriddhiman Saha (wk), Manish Pandey, Kedar Jadhav, Jason Holder, Abdul Samad, Rashid Khan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Sandeep Sharma, Khaleel Ahmed

  Sunrisers Hyderabad Actual Playing XI:
Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Abdul Samad, Rashid Khan, S Sharma, Siddarth Kaul, Jason Holder, Jason Roy, KS Williamson, WP Saha, Priyam Garg, Abhishek Sharma

Sanju Samson would be upset with the performance of his batsmen in the last game against Delhi Capitals where they lost by 33 runs. Apart from Samson himself, no other batsmen in the top order occupied the crease for long leading to their defeat. The skipper would be aware of Sunrisers’ lack of confidence and shall look to exploit it.

The side would hope to see a steady start here from Liam Livingstone and Yashasvi Jaiswal as they didn’t trouble the scorers much in the last game. Sampson must play a solid innings here after his fighting knock in the last game and build partnerships with David Miller and Mahipal Lamror. In Rahul Tewatia and Riyan Parag the side has good hitters of the ball down the order.

Lamror and Mustafizur Rahman are in good form and the side would expect a good show from them in this game. Chetan Sakariya and Kartik Tyagi looked in poor form in the last game and the side would expect tighter spells from them. The presence of Tabraiz Shamsi is a force multiplier in these kinds of conditions.

  Top Batsman – Sanju Samson

  Top Bowler – Mustafizur Rahman

  Rajasthan Royals Predicted Playing XI:
Sanju Samson (c & wk), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Liam Livingstone, David Miller, Mahipal Lomror, Riyan Parag, Rahul Tewatia, Kartik Tyagi, Chetan Sakariya, Mustafizur Rahman, Tabraiz Shamsi

It would be hot and humid in Dubai on September 27 and we expect to see a flat surface where bowlers would have a tough time containing the batsman. The ball is expected to come onto the bat nicely.  The side that bats first would need to target a score in the range of 180 runs to feel safe on this surface.

Dubai International Cricket Stadium is a large ground but that acts as no limitation for the batsmen and the fast outfield and flat wicket have resulted in big scores at the venue. It can give nightmares to the fast bowlers with nothing on the surface for them. Spinners have done well here in the past as the odd ball tends to turn sharply.

There have been high-scoring games at this venue in the past and batsmen have enjoyed batting on this surface. Big scores have been chased on this surface easily in the last few years. The side winning the toss in this game should have little hesitation in opting to srh vs rr cricket bettingSunrisers Hyderabad vs Rajasthan Royals,Indian Premier League 2020,Today Match Prediction 11 Oct 2020 bowl.
