‘He’ll give the selectors a migraine,’ says Ben Stokes of ‘amazing’ Harry Brook. “To come out here and play in the way he has done and show the world what he is all about is good for us going forward,” Stokes said.

England Test captain Ben Stokes has lauded teenage cricketer Harry Brook, predicting that the middle-order marvel would cause problems for selectors in the future. Brook produced a match-winning century in the third Test against Pakistan, which ended recently at the National Bank Arena in Karachi.

His 111-run first-innings effort helped the Three Lions surpass Pakistan’s total of 304 runs. The visitors led by 50 runs after being swept out for 354 runs. England prevailed by eight wickets and blanked the hosts 3-0, with Brooks named Player of the Match.

Harry Brook has demonstrated to the world what he is all about: Stokes, Ben

“It is exactly what you want when you’re picking a team. You want to have decisions that are hard. Who to pick? You know. You much rather be in that situation than not. But Brooky has been outstanding this series. The way which he has played, the way he has taken the game on and the amount of runs he has scored,”

Ben Stokes said.

“The strike-rate that he has scored at is incredible to watch. He is a very switched on man with the bat. The end of this year, obviously finished off a great summer for England. To think about all the runs he has scored for Yorkshire and to get into the team at the back end due to an unfortunate injury to Jonny (Bairstow). To come out here and play in the way he has done and show the world what he is all about is good for us going forward. He will be giving the selectors a migraine. Me and Baz a migraine as well. He has been awesome,”

He added.

Additionally, Brook was a part of the English team that triumphed in Australia last month during the ICC T20 World Cup 2022. He is doing fantastic work for the 3 Lions in the middle order without star batter Jonny Bairstow. Since suffering a golf-related leg injury in September, which prevented him from participating in the T20 World Cup, Bairstow has been sidelined.
