The BCCI has asked the selectors to create a pool of players for the Women’s IPL following a recent Governing Council meeting. According to Cricbuzz, the BCCI will receive the list, which includes nearly 160-170 Indian players and 30-40 international players, in a few days. The 15-day window required for the five-team tournament is likely to fall between March 7 and 22, 2023.

The dates will be set only once the tournament’s broadcast rights and franchises have been auctioned off. Many current franchises, including the Chennai Super Kings, Punjab Kings, and Kolkata Knight Riders, have expressed interest in bidding for a women’s team if the tournament goes forward.

Women in Blue prepare for the Australia project

The Indian women’s squad is currently training for a five-match T20I series against Australia, which will begin on December 9, 2022. The five games will be contest in the D.Y. Patil Stadium and the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. The series will be extremely beneficial to both teams as they prepare for the upcoming T20 World Cup.
