Virat Kohli’s “video game” tweet in support of Suryakumar Yadav ignites the internet during India vs. New Zealand. Following Suryakumar Yadav’s century against New Zealand in the second T20I, Virat Kohli tweeted in support of Yadav, setting off an online fire.

There is just no way to stop Suryakumar Yadav in T20 cricket. After the first T20I of the three-match series against New Zealand was called off due to rain, Surya once again displayed his batting prowess, striking a 49-ball century on way to his 111-run performance in the game. Although Virat Kohli did not see Surya batter Kiwi bowlers mercilessly on Sunday, his tweet in support of the talented batter has gone viral.

“Numero Uno showing why he’s the best in the world. Didn’t watch it live but I’m sure this was another video game innings by him.”

When praising Suryakumar on Twitter, Kohli wrote:

For India in the T20 World Cup 2022, Kohli and Surya forged a number of amazing partnerships. The two ended up being the team’s top two scorers despite India not making it far in the competition. Surya came in third, and Kohli ended up scoring the most runs overall.

India scored 191 runs overall in the game thanks to Surya’s performance. With a knock of 36 runs, Hardik Pandya & Co.’s Ishan Kishan finished second in the scoring. They were the only Indian batters to score more than 20 runs; everyone else failed.

“In T20, a hundred is always special but at the same time, it was really important for me to bat till the very end. Hardik was telling me to bat till the 18th or 19th over, and get to a score of 185 or so. After the end of the 16th over, we had a chat about taking it deep. It was important to maximize the last few overs. Have been doing the same things over and over again, in the nets and it’s just coming off for me.”

Regarding his knock, Surya stated:

Surya’s 111-run innings is tied for the fourth-highest T20I Indian score.
