Mohammad Amir’s Honest Admission: “Pakistan Didn’t Deserve To Play In T20 WC

Mohammad Amir’s Honest Admission: “Pakistan Didn’t Deserve To Play In T20 WC. Former Pakistani bowler Mohammad Amir said the Pakistan cricket squad, including Babar Azam and company, didn’t deserve to compete in the T20 World Cup 2022 final.

The Netherlands’ victory against South Africa in the Super 12s gave Pakistan, who had previously been written off as a semi-final contender for the T20 World Cup 2022, an extra ticket to the last four. Then, Pakistan upset New Zealand in the semifinals before losing to England in the championship game. Although Pakistan did finish second in the competition, according to its former player Mohammad Amir, the team didn’t deserve to even get to the final.

Amir provided his honest evaluation of Pakistan’s T20 World Cup campaign during a discussion on News 24HD. He emphasized that virtually the whole competition, the team’s hitting wasn’t up to par.

“The fact that we played in the final is a big thing. We didn’t deserve to play in the final. The whole world knows how we advanced to the final. Allah helped us reach there. You will get to know the results if you look at the performance of our batters. Once we got out of Sydney, it was given that this would happen,”

Amir stated.

“I told you earlier that if the pitch at MCG is the same as it was in the first match, Pakistan will struggle and we did. After winning the toss, we got off to a good start and we knew how the conditions were,”

he continued

Amir even noted that although Mohammad Haris showed “will,” he also has to have some “sense” about what shots to play and when in his critical evaluation of the squad.

“We talked about Haris and his intent. But along with intent, you also need to have sense. On the first ball, he faced off Adil Rashid, he tried to come down the track.

“On these pitches, you can’t leave it to someone else. The new batter will struggle. Ben Stokes showed that experience and game-awareness,”

Amir insisted

The way that Pakistan’s bowling attack battled despite protecting a modest score of 137 runs has earned them the title of “best in the world” in the format. However, the batting lineup, led by Babar Azam, is still a work in progress.
