It was completely fake fielding: Ex-India cricketer says. Nurul Hasan accused Virat Kohli of ‘fake fielding’ during the T20 World Cup play against Bangladesh. Former India cricketer Aakash Chopra believes Kohli is to blame.

As Bangladesh continues to criticize the match’s umpiring.Former India cricketer Aakash Chopra has stated that Kohli guilty of ‘false fielding,’ and India was given a reprieve because the umpires failed to see the event.

Bangladesh wicket-keeper batsman Nurul Hasan came out swinging at Virat Kohli and the Indian squad. Claiming his team should given 5 extra runs as a result of the India star’s actions.

Even Aakash Chopra believes that if the umpires had observed what Kohli did on the field, India would have received a punishment.

“Woh fake fielding tha, 100% tha, wo jo throw marne ka prayas kia wo agar umpire dekhte toh 5 run ki pentaly padti humko aur 5 run se hum match bhi jeete. (Yes thats 100% fake fielding because of the way Kohli attempt to throw the ball. If the umpires seen him do that, we would’ve been slap with a five-run penalty and we’ve won by five runs only.) So we escaped here but next time if someone does this then the umpires will have to be more careful. So are Bangladesh right? Yes, they are but nobody notice it then so can’t do anything now,” the cricketer-turned-pundit said in a video on his YouTube channel.

Not only would the 5-run penalty have been impose, but the ball would have been declare ‘dead,’ and the two runs score by Bangladesh would credit as well.


“If those five penalty runs had been granted, the two that the Bangladesh duo ran would still have count. The ball would have been dead, and Bangladesh would have gotten to select who takes strike in the next ball. ” Chopra explain in the video.

The former India opener believes India benefited from an umpiring error throughout the game. However, he also state that similar incidents should be avoided in the future.
